happy rich people

Flannery had a crappy day, so we went out to meet her at school and spent the afternoon/evening strolling through Chinatown and ending at the Children's Museum. Flannery got a much needed sesame ball and I learned not to pick pastries containing the words, "egg yolk" in their title. I've learned this before, but it looked so good. The museum was packed, not condusive to mellowing Flannery's mood, so she decided to treat herself to some soup at the cafe while Cayla and Collin lost themselves in . . . . the maze!

She came back to report that there were no vegetarian soups and her tiny $4 bowl of mac and cheese tasted like chicken so she hadn't eaten it. She also had called us 3 times and searched the entire museum for us. I had missed all three calls (not because my ringer was turned off, which is usually the case) because there were 12,987 people on the first floor. However, in searching the museum, she informed us that the 2nd and 3rd floors were empty, so off we went to Cayla and Collin's favorite exhibit, "Arthur Land". While Collin practiced his flying skills,
Flannery read the map

and she found this

which thoroughly clinched her bad day. This is Arthur. This is PBS. This is a museum. Argggggg! Luckily, a great subway music act cheered us all up and grading exams in front of a movie until 1:30am washed the blues away.
