Nugget Update

We did give them tofu dogs the first or second night.  Little man ate his, little lady expressed absolutely no interest.  We thought of getting some fake meat products, but honestly, we're not really fans of them.  The ingredient list is a mile long and we usually eat them more as "treats" than a meal.  If the kids were used to meat, then I'd rather just give them meat.  Good, free-range, grass fed stuff, cause that's how we roll:)  And, if the kids were used to McDonald's or fast food then give them that.  So much change and trauma in their little lives.  Why not keep the few things constant that we have the power to keep constant?  Except we don't know what they did eat.

And, just because they ask for McDonald's many times a day doesn't mean that they actually ate there a lot.  And, Flannery and I really think that McDonald's is a special kind of evil - they have single handedly changed so much about our country - obesity, ranch land, eating habits.  We read Fast Food Nation, we saw Supersize Me, we drank the "McDonald's is bad" water.  OK - bandwagon over.

So, Jeff cooked us some chicken.  I put it in a bowl with rice.  I turned away for second.  The chicken was gone - every last shred.  "MORE CHICKEN!" insisted Little Man.  So, there you have it.  No need to jump into chicken nuggets from McDonalds:)

And, Julie, we sang silly songs (that will not be consistent tomorrow b/c Lord knows what came out of my tired mouth . . . ) and the little lady smelled, kissed, licked, and ATE a blackberry and 2 spoonfuls of yogurt.  Little man refused to smell, kiss, or lick the rice beneath his chicken (even when we ALL sniffed at it) because he's 3.  However, later in the meal he ate his rice because even 3 year-olds get hungry and know that rice is tasty.

OK, enough on the eating habits of the littles.  What do you want to hear about tomorrow?

Yeah!! Yeah!! We can give you lots of chicken ideas :-) (but if chicken and rice worked I would just serve that every other day and feel just fine about it)
