Chicken Nuggets?!?!?!
OK you carnivores out there, we need a bit of advice.
Although we are not stopping at McDonald's anytime soon (let me be a broken record and say that there are a billion McDonald's between our house and EVERYWHERE), we're starting to feel guilty about the stark change in the littles' diet. The little lady wolfs down box mac and cheese and pizza but pretty much picks at every other main course.
So, if you were give your kids some McDonald's like food - chicken nuggets, hamburgers, etc. what would it be. Specific brands or recipes would be much appreciated here.

So we have a vegetarian chicken nugget that the kids seem to like. It is really crunchy on the outside and is pretty decent for a meatless product. Might be Morningstar. And the kids like Boca burgers as well.
We felt like we needed to get a second job with as much as the kids were eating when they first came home. We let them graze for the first month, eating anything all day long. Gradually we got to 3 meals and snacks in between. And funny... bananas and avocados. We should have bought stock.
It goes in waves... can't get enough of something and then a week later, want nothing to do with it. They do LOVE lite vanilla yogurt with granola. Chocolate milk, CLEMENTINES and recently, cold cereal with milk. If they were going to be in our family, it was a must. Oh, and oatmeal or rather brown sugar with some oatmeal.
Anyway, just a couple of ideas.
And, don't eat the mustard packets.....
brainstorming:
*veggie hot dogs
*lunch meat alternative?
*processed cheese (slices/sticks)
*ramen noodles
*PB and J? on crackers? PB off of the spoon? PB dipped in carrots?
*oatmeal
*cold cereal
*TV dinner type looking meals
*do they make spaghetti O type things without meat?
Trying to think of what they are probably used to but those things are probably not what you or we serve. when is the next parent visit? have you thought to ask what the like? and are you asking for veggie meals or nugget type recipes? if you are considering meat we make a lot of homemade "nuggets" with different coatings--bread crumbs, panko crumbs, crumbled potato chips :-) I will also call and give you a "food group" song that we do that helps kids get used to new foods....

The morning star farms veggie nuggets are a favorite here too. Also trader joe's vegetarian meatballs. There was a time when D was also a big fan of Smart Dogs.
I just reread this and I would love to eat something, anything coated in potato chips.
