A lazy Sunday

Flannery was a cooking fool today. She made crepes with apples, pasties, soup, and apple pie. It's in her blood. Her brother is a fabulous chef who serves homemade mango sorbet, splendid custards, and a yummy banana filo thing along with delicious entrees at his restaurant. And her mom serves us gourmet breakfasts full of cream, butter, eggs, and marmalade sauce during our up-North summer vacation (while everyone else is eating cheerios and milk). I did no cooking today. My day consisted of washing the kids' hair and reading Curious George Goes to the Hospital. We can't get enough of that book around here.
Speaking of food, I'd like to direct you to my favorite blog, Cupcake Bakeshop by Chockylit. The link is on the sidebar. While Julie reads her lesbian mom blogs and Katie reads her rugby world cup blogs and Flannery studies, I drool my way through the cupcake blog. I'm too intimidated to try any of the recipes. And besides, our kitchen is horribly lacking in basic tools needed to make cupcakes. Maybe Karin, or my mom, or Flannery's brother can be convinced to try a recipe. If any of you attempts one, I promise the twins and I will be there in 15 hours. Especially if you make the pistachio, horchata, or samoas ones!

Um, OK. A little boy named Harley bit the zipper pull off. He made a batch of cookies with his Mom and was so impatient while they were cooking that he bit his zipper pull right off.
We're coming in Nov 9 - Greta, twins, and me! The kids are completely addicted to the CD still. The librarian sang the raindrop/gumdrop song at storytime the other day and Cayla just about hit the celing. The best part was that the librarian didn't know how to sing the ah, ah, ah, ah . . . part. Cayla belted it out and left no question of how the tune should go. We miss you!
And no, those are not cupcakes we made. In my dreams!
