We Shall Overcome

We went to an MLK celebration at a local library tonight after Flannery came home from work. It began with an elementary school choir singing patriotic songs and ended with some of MLK's speeches. The kids loved the choir, especially when they sang "Tomorrow" from Annie* and We Shall Overcome which they are learning at school. When we all stood up for "Lift Every Voice and SIng", the librarian directed us to the American flag. Collin exclaimed, "Hey! That's Barack Obama's flag!"

*Weird choice, I know. But . . . TOMORROW is only a day away and we're all really excited and teary over here.
