It's a cut and collage craft night

The kids are never really excited to open envelopes with such boring messages.  They are looking for sugary deserts, restaurant trips, movie tickets, and candy making.  I knew it would be all ok once the cutting began.  However, we didn't quite get started on the crafts right after school (Little lady came home with a fever and went right to bed!) and I had many questions on when we would start crafting.  Collin got a head start as he is taking a crochet class during his lifeskills block at school.  He brought home his yarn and sat on the couch finger knitting.  Cayla, not to be outdone, asked me to reteach her how to knit (reteach is a stretch - maybe just teach).  And, then we had to eat dinner.

And, finally, the table was clear and ready.

 Except for the teaser paper tree . . . 

 It soon looked like this.  Can you tell that Little Lady is running a 101 fever?  She actually retired to the couch after a few minutes and we didn't hear a peep from her for the rest of the evening:)

 Here is Cayla's handiwork.  This is before she added a cup of blue glitter glue to the background!

Little Man, who normally doesn't get that into crafts outlasted us all!  He spend a long time cutting out animals.  He spent an even longer time scribbling "blood" on them.  I should have taken a video so that that you could all hear the bloody dinosaur narrative.
