The Lost and Found Suitcase

Cayla and Mama were playing tennis at the field across our house. The game was going good. Cayla missed the ball. And, Mama swung at it too hard and it went high up into the sky. Then it was Cayla’s turn to swing at it. And, she missed the ball again. And, again. And, again. Then, Cayla swung at it and got it so high. The ball went into the raspberry bushes when Mama swung it too high. Cayla tried to get the ball out but the vines were too prickly. Mama got the ball out. As she was getting it out she saw a pink piggy slipper. It was just like the slippers that Cayla used to have. “Isn’t that funny”, Mama thought. The slippers were last seen in a suitcase that was stolen off our porch this summer. Suddenly, Mama looked around in the bushes some more and what do you think she saw? OUR SUITCASE!!!! Cayla and Mama searched in the bushes and woods and found Cayla’s shorts, her socks, her eagle shirt, and lots more clothes. Cayla ran home and got some plastic bags. We put all the clothes in the plastic bags and continued our tennis game.

In the meantime, Collin and Queso got home from hockey and didn’t know where Cayla and Mama were. Suddenly, Collin saw this note. It said, “C and E were down at the field”. So, Collin said, “Hey! Queso! Why don’t we go down to the field? OOooooo, ooooo! Can you go get my sweatshirt?”

And, then we came down to the field and Collin went ahead of Queso and Queso was behind. Then Collin ran toward the basketball court and noticed the suitcase and all the stuff that was spread out to dry out. It was clothes. Collin said, “Hey mom, want to play tennis?” So they did and then Collin said, “I’m done playing tennis.” And, while Cayla and Queso were off, Collin went after them to see what they were doing.
