Happy Winter Solstice!

Let's eat dinner and breakfast by

candlelight to celebrate the

shortest day of the year.

Life is always more interesting by candlelight. And, although I wasn't sure if we would actually need it this morning, we did! This day was a packed one. We had Cayla's MET and IEP in the morning, and a 'IEP progress' meeting for Collin directly after. And, our nephew, J, was coming over to spend the night that evening.

I won't soil this post with IEP drama except to say that was some. Always. Always have to drama in the IEP. And, it shouldn't have been that way. I ended up driving out at 7am to pick up Cayla's neuropsych results, we had a "disagreement" with Cayla's therapist over her roll in the IEP, and Flannery had to leave before Collin's meeting started to head to a dr. appt.

So, all in all, the reminder to slow down, which candlelight always does for us was perfectly timed. It was the twins last day of school at the end of a very busy week. They spent much of the afternoon playing outside with their cousin and then we headed inside to relax, eat, and play with legos.

Legos, PJs, and a soft floor - the perfect combo (or the perfect storm if you are in a wrestling mood . . . ).
