So, the title of this post could be:

The “emergency” plaster guy just left

A three day job X 3 + however long it takes us to sand and paint and clean

I now know why people move away from their houses while remodeling
Fine, but we're not remodeling

Our realization that any work done in one’s house involving drilling and expandable foam and plaster walls should not be equated in one’s mind as a quick, simple, clean job

Don’t believe people who say, “There is very little dust and
anyways we cover your stuff with plastic”.

Don’t just randomly schedule people to come and blow insulation into your
walls without thinking about when you are scheduling them or what you are
doing the day/week/month after they are supposed to be done

Our heating bill had better go down

Clueless

This job seemed really expensive when we scheduled it, but given the time spent on it by at least 15 different people using tons of different materials, it seems like a bargin now

Hmmm . . . don’t think there is any point in me elaborating upon these possible titles. The good news is that we might change the color of our kitchen (every other room is staying the same because we already have the paint). Oh, and the basement is getting a much needed cleaning (art supplies anyone?!?!?! I have reams of tracing paper and gallons of paint). And the kids are loving it. They get to sleep over at friends’ houses, spend the days with Grandparents, eat lots of pizza, and race through their totally trashed house.

Mess is always fun, even funner if you can't get blamed for it.
