When it rains, it pours . . .

Collin was invited to 3 birthday parties this weekend.  This is his dream come true.  He has been planning his 7th birthday since the day after his 6th one.  The kid loves birthday parties.  I know - who doesn't, but he really loves them.  And, it's not the cake or games or goodies he loves, but the PEOPLE!  Collin is such a people person and a large group of kids gathered around him, without any schoolwork required is all he needs to have a good time.  His friday night party was a "boys-only Star Wars party".  He claims he had a great time, however he wishes that the girls were there:)  Also, if you ask him what went on at that party, he'll just recount one thing - he did NOT like the person who came in dressed as Darth Vader.  Collin does not like people in costumes as is, but I think Darth Vader would have scared anyone.

Then, the poor guy got sick in the midst of his second party and slept all day Saturday.  So, naturally, he was all fresh for today's party at Chuck E. Cheese.  I haven't stepped in one in 20 years and I was secretly excited to play some skee-ball.  And, this may have been my only chance.  Collin was petrified of the person in the Mouse suit.  Petrified.  Clawing at my arms, trying to climb up on me, hyperventilating petrified.  He clung to me for 20 minutes unable to play anything for fear the big mouse would come around the corner.  And the mouse did - many times.  I'm pretty sure old Chuckie knew he was terrorizing Collin.  Wouldn't you if you had to walk around for 8 hours in a hot, smelly mouse head?

I forgot to add that Collin really only knows 2 Star Wars characters: Darth Tator and C-Creep-E-O. We're going to have to work on that.

Poor Collin. Chuckie *is* pretty scary-looking. Darth Tator is even scarier.
