Mmmmmm . . . falafel

I have to brag. Flannery made falafel today. And it was goooood! We got a new cookbook for Christmas (thanks P, L, and J!). Flannery was browsing through it on Tuesday and announced that she was going to make some falafel. Me, the skeptic, figured it would never materialize. And me, the pessimist figured that if she actually tried to make it, the time and energy and kitchen mess wouldn't be worth the mediocre product. Because really, isn't falafel something better left to restaurants? Nope. I was wrong on ALL counts. We had a most delicious dinner tonight. And I didn't even have to clean because Collin did the dishes. (Luckily our definition of "clean dishes" is quite liberal.)

Cayla is still sick - just a cold, but it got her good. She's also adjusting to her new seizure medication (full dose as of Monday) which makes her REALLY drowsy. She's been quite "fluffy" as Grandma would say. We're crossing our fingers over here that she's up for school tomorrow - she hasn't been yet and we're ALL suffering. You can take away her gum or her markers or a trip to the musuem or even her music class. But, don't, don't, don't make her stay home from school or you will hear about it every waking minute. Not only did Collin GET to go to school on Wednesday, but he also came home with a class photo. She spent the rest of the day carrying around the photo demanding to go to school.
