We've been up to our ears in balloons around here. Cayla got a balloon animal kit for her birthday and she loves it. And, she is fearless. The kid cares not that a balloon might pop in her face while twisting it into a dog head. In fact, sometimes we wonder whether or not she is trying to pop them:) Flannery has outlawed her from twisting balloons in the kitchen because loud, sudden bangs and frying pans full of hot oil don't mix.
Life under Cayla, Collin, Greta, and a Person Who Takes Nutrition Classes
A record (and a bit of commentary) on the minute details and everyday occurrences in Cayla and Collin's lives, that Flannery and Erica live for! Yes, it's a bit (OK, more than a bit) narcissist and we understand if this is the last time you visit. But for those of you not privileged to observe these little cuties 24/7, we thought we'd keep you updated.

And, she's really creative with them. Her favorite thing to make is hats. And, I promise you that anyone who walks through our doors leaves with a hat. She also made a tail for herself last week. She's tried to follow directions in the book that came with the kit, but usually gets so frustrated that she ends up flying off the handle and squeezing and stomping her last 10 creations until they pop.
Collin is a little more wary of the balloons and can't get bubbles to stay since he lacks the aggressive squeezing and twisting of his sister. However, he did manage to make a reindeer head last week that he was very proud of.
And, of course I've gotten into the game as well. My favorites so far have been the '4 balloon octopus' and the 'one balloon line of increasing smaller ladybugs'.
