This is ridiculous. I cannot get into a blogging rhythm and have severely neglected to write much of anything this summer. And, it's not as if I'm not continuously composing posts in my mind. It's just that they are are not making it out of my brain and onto the computer. When the woman who writes my favorite food blog life's got busy, she started posting every Monday night. So, perhaps that's what I need to do. Although, I wouldn't exactly call my life busy. She was in the middle of publishing a cook book and helping her husband to open a restaurant. So, how do Friday nights sound:)
Summer is coming to a close (sniff, sniff) and we are reluctantly getting ready for the fall. Cayla started her summer homework packet and Collin got new shoes. We're not ready to let summer go. The kids had a wonderful few months full of swimming and sandboxes and mudpies and couch jumping parties. Kindergarten was a rough time for both of them and I was glad to have my happy, creative, bouncy kids back for a while. However, since I am not going to turn this post into the "Why I Want to Homeschool" essay, let me switch gears and tell you what Collin did today. Here he is at 10am:
And now at 6pm:
Yes, the locks have begun and Collin is estatic!
And, just for good measure, here is a photo of Cayla (who spend the day with my Dad watching 2 movies, going to lunch, and going to a playground!)
Life under Cayla, Collin, Greta, and a Person Who Takes Nutrition Classes
A record (and a bit of commentary) on the minute details and everyday occurrences in Cayla and Collin's lives, that Flannery and Erica live for! Yes, it's a bit (OK, more than a bit) narcissist and we understand if this is the last time you visit. But for those of you not privileged to observe these little cuties 24/7, we thought we'd keep you updated.

Love the hair! Good luck with the start of school!! May first grade be as wonderful as kindergarten was rough and may they remain their creative happy bouncy selves.

Julie,
No. Not me. We had it done. They are actual twists, not the 2-strand ones I usually do. And, we figured if they are locs, we should have someone who knows what they are doing start them.
Rachel,
Finger crossed! Toes too!
