Grump

Sorry Julie. We've been in a bit of a funk. Why, you ask?

1. Flannery has tons of work.
2. Flannery needs to rework her big paper (with 45 references) because its whole premise is wrong.
3. We are all recovering from our 16 hour and 10 minute car ride. Cayla is a crab.
4. Collin has been a bit sick, which always freaks us out. For those of you who have never experienced a sick Collin, it goes like this. . . . he is fine one minute - he breaks out crying and complaining of a headache the next - he then sleeps for hours. He also often throws up, which hasn't happened this time (knock on wood!!!!). What I have described (sleepiness, headaches, throwing up) is also a sign of shunt malfunction. So, we are always stressed out when the boy is sick.
5. Cayla peed in our bed - our lovely, comfy, cotton covered futon. Sorry, Mark. But, you aren't getting your futon back anyway. I love it!
6. Collin pooped in his pants.
7. We are out of rice and Flannery thinks we shouldn't buy a bag of Basmati because it is too expensive. I LOVE basmati.
8. My brother lives in Switzerland and doesn't know when he is coming back to the US and I only saw him a few times over Thanksgiving.
9. My back is killing me - not incapacitated "killing", just annoying "killing"
10. Our house is cold.
11. It gets dark here at 3pm. 3pm, people! This is way too early!

But, don't worry, we will pull ourselves out of the funk soon. Why, you ask?

1. We had pancakes for dinner.
2. Flannery's paper isn't due for a few weeks.
3. The kids have plenty of tape.
4. We have lots of Swiss chocolate. In fact I am eating a dark chocolate wrench right now.
5. Collin is picking books, other than Curious George to read.
6. We have use of our kitchen.
7. We don't have a newborn who refuses to nurse.
8. I am not teaching.
9. I don't have 100 papers to grade (THANK GOD!!!!!!)
10. Greta sleeps A LOT when it is cold.
11. We listen to music.
12. My back hurts because we took the kids ice skating (for the first time) and they loved it.

And, Julie, you don't really want to hear more about vitamin D, do you.
