Two Truths and a Lie

There seems to be a competition around our house this week, and so far Flannery is in the lead. She's already missed 3 1/2 days of work this week and who knows what tomorrow brings. The flu has got her good. Cayla and Collin are tied at 2, but Cayla is staying home tomorrow, so as long as Collin can keep up his health, he'll secure 3rd place with only 2 days out of school. And, me - I'm fit as a fiddle and actually subbed 3 days this week. Needless to say, our house is a wreck - I think every teacup was dirty when I began washing dishes tonight. And, dinners have been lame and scattered. This is fine, since nobody is really eating. Which brings me to our little game. It's about our lame dinner tonight which consisted of warm milk and honey, left-over macaroni and cheese, buttered toast, and brussel sprouts (I had to cook up the brussel sprouts, because one more day in the fridge and they would have been sprouting . . . ). Two of the following statements are true, one is false. A prize to the winner!

1. Cayla did not eat any buttered toast for dinner.
2. Cayla did not eat any brussel sprouts for dinner.
3. Cayla did not eat any mac and cheese for dinner.

I am imagining that she DID eat, buttered toast and brussel sprouts for dinner. The mac and cheese is a lie. Feel better... Lulu is down and I am getting a weird throat.

Tricky tricky Erica, trying to get us with those negatives in there. I think Cayla DID eat brussel sprouts and ONLY brussels sprouts which would make #2 "Cayla did not eat brussel sprouts" the LIE. and the others are true.

I think Katie was on the right track but Erica tricked her.

ps--was the flu the swine variety?

I didn't mean to be tricky. After not eating anything for a day, she went to town on the brussel sprouts ignoring everything else. I should have just changed the game to '2 lies and a truth'. And, Katie, she probably would have eaten the toast had it not been rye bread. She has turned her nose up at 'pickle bread' as she calls it.

Swine flu? Who knows? Probably. Does fever, cough, complete exhaustion qualify? Tons of kids have been out sick at the kids' school, so something is going around.
