Sweet stuff

I think we've done too good a job instilling good eating habits in our kids. We went to our neighborhood school's ice cream social tonight and just figured we'd let loose on the sugar thing. Our kids would have nothing to do with it. First off, Cayla didn't really want her push-up and ended up giving it to Flannery to finish. Then, as losers in the cake walk, we received a consolation piece of laffy taffy. Collin took one bite and then proceeded to (try to) spit it out. Cayla stuffed the whole piece in her mouth before marching off to the garbage can to spit it out. Unfortunately, laffy taffy is not something easily spit out. Flannery and I were laughing hysterically and the twins attempted to peel the slimy adhesive out of their mouths. We finally struck gold at the duck pond, where after choosing a winning duck (they ALL were winning ducks), Cayla and Collin chose 2 dum-dums as their prizes. They really enjoyed their dum-dums, which lasted the whole walk home. In between, we had a blast at the playground and blowing BIG bubbles.

All in all, it was an excellent finish to quite a stressful, grumpy, sleepless, sickly, packing week.
