Greta love!

Cayla has basically ignored, avoided, and grumbled at all dogs for the past (almost) 2 years. She has wanted nothing to do Greta who basically steers clear of her also. However, within the past few months, Cayla has begun mentioning Greta. When we pull in the driveway, she sometimes says, "Where's Goonie?" and when we are up in her room and hear the telltale nail clicks coming up the stairs, she'll often smile and say, "It's bunny!" And every so often, she has tried to pet Greta - her hand usually just strokes air, as she doesn't REALLY want to touch her. However, today, out of the blue, she spent a good 10 minutes actually playing with Greta!!!! The twins have been really enjoying Greta's water dish outside as of late. They have been pouring water in it, dumping it out, adding bubbles to it, etc. So today, Cayla picked up the water bowl and walked over to Greta, who was basking in the sun, and offered her some water. Greta sniffed it and walk away. Cayla followed with the water. Greta sniffed again and walked away. This continued for a few rounds until Greta stopped sniffing and just kept walking away. Soon, it turned into Cayla slowly following Greta around our backyard with a full, heavy water bowl. Greta, walking at a slightly quicker pace, seemed to be weighing her desire to avoid a full bowl of water, with her desire to once again lay down and bask in the sun. Finally, Greta retreated to her hole under the deck stairs, and Cayla placed Greta's water bowl as close to her as she could get it and zoomed off to sweep the porch. (Where is Collin, you ask - he slept through the entire bonding experience!)
